Inspiration: When the daily grind is just the daily grind, one has sold one's self short.

 

Today: The genius underlying this symbol lies in the capacity to execute menial tasks and routine as if each moment was yet another brilliant occasion of life in its fullness.

 

Think of finding oneself having to take one of those 'oh-so-meaningful-minimum-wage-no-benefits-burger-flipping' jobs. Not such a grand vision, especially for those whose lived-reality is just that.

 

However, consider that it is how you approach the task at hand that carries the worth, dignity and joy for living. Like the Downs Syndrome fellow who packs groceries in our neighbourhood grocery store. The line at his till stretches far back, while other tills languish in short queued trickles.

 

Why? Because of what he brings to each and every packing assignment, to each and every customer. Strangers from the grocery store come out to cheer him on in the local five kilometre run.
