The quick switch is a shift in awareness that takes you off the stage and into the audience's position. it is as if, for a brief moment, you see yourself as your audience does, as if you see yourself from the background. 

 

The effects can be quite liberating. Today, remaining fixed on a one-sided perceptual perspective does not serve really well. To switch, within your own awareness such that other perspectives are taken in, serves well.

 

Every student assumes from time to time to be the teacher. It is more difficult for the teacher to assume the student perspective, but worth the effort.
