Fascination...
Aries 9, "A crystal gazer" tends to be a little inward focus. In other words, one can become very fascinated with one's self.
There is a future oriented theme as well. Consider the opposing Libra degree "Three old masters hanging in an art gallery". The Libra degree hints at being appreciated long after you days on earth... a tough way to pay today's bills.
But it also points to a tendency to become 'hung up' on matters. In Aries 9, the hang up could be magical charms, self-fascination, glamoured by interesting facets, and so on. The challenge... and this is a fourth degree of the series, therefore indicating a challenge, is to balance the degree of fascination with practical self-awareness.
Other degree-symbols that closely relate to Aries 9 and can be used to fill out the lived reality of individuals with placements here are:
Aries 24, "An open window and a net curtain blowing into the shape of a cornucopia"... suggesting a fruitful future, envisioned and possible.
Pisces 24, "An inhabited isle": the desert island of one's dreams.
Capricorn 9, "A tiny nude miss reaching in the water for a fish': innocent and naive ways of reaching for the object of desire. This 9th degree Aries venus gets on just fine with his 9th degree Cancer Moon wife, thank you very much.
Capricorn 24, "A woman entering a convent": again the theme of just withdrawing from the busy world emerges (see Pisces 24).
Fascinating!
