The two faces of recognition...
Capricorn 23 touches upon the issue of appreciation versus criticism.
Imagine an individual who knows inwardly they have carried themselves with the utmost integrity, dignity, compassion and so on, yet to others there is something lacking and in need of critical comment.
Imagine watching a contest of some sort where one competitor is loud and charismatic while the other is quiet and retiring. You know that the former is going to be the 'star' for the television production. Yet often, we cheer for the quiet competitor in much the same way we might cheer an underdog.
Capricorn 23 gets at the inner workings of all these issues. With each unthinking criticism, a Capricorn 23 individual may retire further within. With each over the top congratulations... well, same thing.
Like Will Penny (main character in "Forgiven") says, "Deserve has got nothing to do with it."
This thought weighs heavily on Capricorn 23. The choice of greatness of character tends to lean away from worldly involvement where praise and blame seem to consistently miss the mark.

You see, this simply perplexes me. While strolling through my readings I found that this is within me. I feel for the message. Oftentimes knowing that I involve myself with the highest dignity yet feel...off for doing thus.
