Carried away...
Another good image for Aquarius 9 is that of being carried away... getting carried away.
Imagine a great bird of prey snatching you up in its sharp talons and flying off with you dangling helplessly in its clutches. Imagine a young lamb being carried off by an eagle. Or, look up the story of Jumping Mouse, a great Indian tale about the spiritual transformation of a small land creature into a majestic eagle.
When tense, Aquarius 9 tends to manifest as people getting carried away by their beliefs and emotions. When calm and centred, it tends to manifest as a wondrous uplifting experience.

I would personally take the degree as in term of Transformation. Flag is more in terms of Iconic Presence to which many look to for setting up rules and regulation- say AUTHORITY figures.
and the transformation - transcendence - is more involuntary. I would take it as having an authority /iconic presence and also to be able to have another persona- another reality (good or bad?)
