The veins that connect us all...
The symbol of an autumn leaf touches many themes.
Death and decay when the brittle leaf crumbles in your hand. Fruition of a fertile season when the many hues of autumn leaves warm the world. The inter-connectedness of all life, for example, how all men regardless of color race or creed, are flowers from the same stem.
And consider that socially, one can become comfortable with difference in people, as well as with your own individual leanings.
In terms of generosity, sharing and social capacities, the autumn leaf symbolizes that no matter what the bounty, great or small, giving to others is always an act of giving to yourself.
In the some cultures such as here in North America, this is very much like Thanksgiving... a time to share the bounty of harvest: life symbolized by an autumn leaf.
