Saving and nursing...
A funny thing happened at our home on this day.
A baby squirrel showed up all friendly and cute. He was too young to be on his own, but old enough to perhaps make it. He crawled up my pant leg, allowed my son to pick him up... it was like we were the new parental imprints.
So we all switch into rescue mode. What to feed him? Where to put him? What kind of bedding? Will the cats get him? This rescue business is really tiring.
Squirrels by the dozen scurry skittishly through our yard ever wary of humans. But this little guy is our new BBF. Talk about a new intermediate zone!
The Humane Society said "Too busy. We will just put him down". So, here we go. Squirrel rescue and hopefully rehabilitation team in action.
