Fire on the mountain...
The mountain reaches high towards heaven from a broad base firmly rooted on earth.
Its peak touches the heights of divine awareness. It stands alone, solitary. A man, like a mountain, may divine a new insight while on the mountain. Then, he descends bringing his new gift to the world and to others.
The challenge lies in how one introduces the new insight to others. One may be able to find receptive ears in those who resonate with the new 'law', the new insight, but it is unlikely that everyone will receive the new law easily.
That the mountain is called 'Sinai' does not limit the range of sense of the symbol for Pisces 22. The reference to 'Sinai' brings the element of fire... of spirit and inspiration... to the mountain. And, while many call this degree the "Holy Moses" degree, we are not tied to Biblical roots when interpreting the meaning of the 'bringing down of a new law'.
The mountain is an universal symbol. It refers to stillness, sturdiness, a manifestation of well-grounded and divinely inspired endurance. Humanistically, the mountain addresses man in his solitary contemplation of life. When a man comes down from the mountain, he enters the world of social relations. And it is here that the dynamic sense of the symbol comes to life. 'Bringing down' means integrating into everyday life.
Fire on the mountain. The image of the wanderer. Success in smallness.
This means that while in a foreign realm, one must be clear-minded and cautious. One may not know the local rules and ways. One does not just arrive and announce that everyone should do things 'my way'. 'Success in smallness' means working with others free of grandiose expectations. Begin small. That way, the new idea, the new law, has a chance for growth and success.
Perhaps this is like a one-man revolution. Start there. Perhaps others will join. get up in the morning and practice your new insight. Others will notice. Then, one can begin to express and successfully convey the new insight.
