Inspiration: There was a time when divine humour was a very serious issue. Today we know making plans is sure to invoke divine laughter.

 

Today: Thunder rolls  and rumbles behind the actual lightning strike… a kind of after-roar that can be surprising if the initial flash of electrical disturbance was missed. Sometimes thunder rolls in winter, unexpectedly. 

 

In practical matters, consider lining everything up, a plan, a feasible order of events and interactions. Then expect the unexpected.

 

Be aware of sudden change in atmospheric conditions, perhaps allowing for enthusiastic plans to take an exciting turn in direction. The key is to carry the charge of excitement forward, even if the plan has to be changed or thrown out the window.

 

An analogous image is that of shaking a blanket or comforter. Before, it lies arranged somehow as if defining the terrain. After, it lies spread anew. The connecting energy… swoosh… is the enthusiasm you carry through.

The underlying current of need is remembrance and solitary reflection. Feelings of being alone and hurt may tempt some, but the opportunity exists to explore deep feelings and memory as an adventure into an unmarked wilderness.

Watch for moments of divining in you day. It may be the touch of someone's coffee cup. It may be the neighbour's car keys. However, the signature of recognition will be a felt experience that is pleasing.

 

Neptune, ruler of ocean and sea, approaches his domain. It is a metaphoric flood of Biblical proportion. The tides may rise up higher on land, but the 'flood' is more about liquid air, ambience and atmosphere conducive for conveying vibrations streams of thought, feeling and energy.

Some may feel caught in no-man's land… somewhere between groups or between two sides of a matter. However, even there may bring less 'shoot the messenger' energy than what might ordinarily be expected.

 

Listen for cloudy words of defeat and disappointment of the sorts, "Yeah, yeah, look on the bright side, see the positive. I'm so tired of people telling me that". Today, a well-turned word or phrase can land deeply in others, setting a mindful path of light in motion.

One might have to bow and bend along the steep path to sacred heights. There is a dynamic of highs and lows today, however they are intimately interconnected. Think leaning forward while walking up a steep hill and leaning back while coming down a steep incline.

 

Emotions are deep yet an air of surety marks each decisive stride. Any uncertainty that may have clouded organizational efforts in the recent past is likely to simply be deal with… and that is that.

 

Lovers may ecstatic be: yet another form of getting down to get high. 

 

As the tides of Neptune flood the world shore, this is a day of firm and forward resolve.  The mountain wanderer understands the ways of peaks and valleys., how the waterfall plunges deep and low, how the slippery ascent to where the water bends and bows from on high.

Inspiration: Spirit casts no shadow.

 

Today: The mountain water fall generates wondrous sights, feelings and sensitivities. As wafting mists dance and sway, one can almost sense a living spirit in the air. 

 

It is the nature of water sprites who live within the waters mist, that when searched for, are not there.

 

Matters of spirit are like this. Almost tangible presences, which may lead to grand assumptions and belief, but which, upon examination, yield nothing. 

 

In human interaction, this dynamic is mostly known by seeing a darkness, or shadow in the mist… almost always projected onto someone else… then, charging that belief with intense emotion. 

 

If there is a great deal of emotional charge today…  and this includes those long held stories about what he or she did long ago… when examined, will prove phantom… not really there.

 

The question, "Who would I be without this belief?", ever invokes the lightness of spirit.

 

For Spirit casts no shadow. And the lifting of heavy emotion is through lightness achieved.

 The day indicates a confident expression of viewpoint and position. It is as if one is ready to speak one's mind fully accepting the full consequences of taking a stand. Yet there is also an agreeable manner suggested that avoids conflict and dispute.

 

An oriental-rug dealer trades in goods which each represent and expression of a whole… the way oriental rugs often portray a mandala design. Yet a man can only stand and orient oneself individually… from one position and toward one direction. No blame.

Think about it. Why would you believe that all important matters are to be solved by your own thought and understanding alone? 

 

Imagine walking down a hallway that leads to two doorways. Choosing either involves the pain of knowing something does not accord well with who you are. What do you do?

 

Consider the third way… a woman entering a convent. There are junctures in life when withdrawing to contemplate releases unnecessary mental tension. Think of it as handing off, with awareness, perceived problems to a higher power, to a disembodied brotherhood of oceanic wisdom. 

 

For some, the convent is an escapist retreat. For the aware, the convent is the space in which to see all things as they, in the full light of the sun, are.

Theme: The two sides of honours

 

Inspiration: Honours earned, deserved, are not always in accordance with honours given, recognized.

 

Today: The machinations of social and political arenas occasionally bestow honours and recognition upon groups or individuals, but often there are two sides to the award.

 

Consider instances when someone other than the recipient should have been acknowledged, or when honour is subjectively borne rather than socially bestowed. There are dynamics involved, more than the pinning of medals to the chest. 

 

If social honours are what you seek, be prepared to play the game. The rules of process may be well-intended, but  a wink and a smile from Granny is the stuff of the heart. If you are passed over in the award and recognition process, consider wearing your honour inwardly. If in an application process, well, it may work out.

 

Listen for, "This is good, but…", "Yes, but…" , "You have done well, but…"

 

The award process has two faces. Some will just turn and leave rather than stand in line.
