Theme: Canalizing.

 

Inspiration: When a natural force builds, the pressure has to be let off somewhere.

 

Today: Consider the pressure hose. The idea is to use normal,  peaceful, manageable water flow  to generate an intense stream of focussed rushing water.

 

By analogy, all human dynamics, whether psycho-spiritual or psycho-sexual, take on extremes of intensity. Like a storm in a canyon, the canalizing of powerful energies can be cleansing, but perhaps also destructive.

 

Be aware that energy and power is just energy and power… neither intrinsically good or not so good. How one chooses to direct energy and power… that is where the real question lies. 

 

You may find that an inner feeling, perhaps a gut instinct, may guide your use of power today. Lifting the quality of energy higher is ever a possibility. Even if you feel somewhat out of control, you do have a position of power from which to choose. Consider this approach to whatever you feel today:

There may not be many moments to just kick back, relax and enjoy the day, so if you can, take your rest and contentment today. 

 

Getting a refreshing break requires no big plan…. "Lets ride every roller coaster in the land!" It calls for very light and delicate enjoyments. Not the half-mile water slide, but the invisible spray of water mists.

 

True, one can be lazy and indulgent through the pleasures of life, however creativity… the juice that makes a good life sing and shine… is one part lounging in luxury of the subtle joys life freely offers.

Inspiration: Under the light of the Sun, every man must take a stance.

 

Today: When the Sun came into being, immediately it threw a shadow over man's shoulder, in this way assuring that wherever man ventured, whatever he came to know, ever would mystery follow. 

 

If you are at a festival or summer fair today, it is likely that something off towards the sidelines will claim your attention. It is as if the centre stage preferences of the masses holds no appeal. Its Slide Bob Willy and the No Shirt No Shoes Band off in the side venue together with their entire loyal following of 26 hemp adorned fans… thats where you go.

 

Strength of choice: thats the stuff of the 'mantle' degree. It may take you to unusual, even socially significant gatherings, or narrow passages off the beaten track, but it is still a strong and potentially satisfying choice.

Inspiration: Difficult choices often yield a third option… to go alone in solitude, in order to give illumined thought for the future.

 

Today: The day could be called "Pragmatics and privacy".

 

If two options are before you, a third is sure to emerge. But you will have to retreat into a private place in order to exercise that third option. It may be that there is no great need to decide 'this, rather than that' just yet. 

 

Imagine reaching for something that proves elusive.  If you bring insistence to efforts to get a hold on the prize, you surely will get caught up in uncomfortable results. If you choose not to reach at all, the pressure to choose may become more tense… perhaps from others.

 

The third option? There is no need to choose right now. This is an occasion when the way of going about things can gradually emerge… as if one were to contemplate for a while. This may appear to be procrastination, but it is more allowing the way forward to emerge in satisfying, comfortable and appealing ways.

Today: The Moon swells full. Emotions surge over the shore washing established lines of understanding away. What to do?

 

Be alert to energies of critical analysis today. But know there are at least two ways this can go. First, something has been seemingly obliterated…like the shore line after a surge of surf. This can create uncertainty and give rise to defensive reactions.

 

Another way calls for a deeper appreciation of the depth and quality of experience. It is as if you are in a new kind of experience, or have returned to one of which 'we have never spoken' before.

 

Finding ways to understand… inwardly… and then to properly convey with others… so we can at least just talk about it…. is the stamp of the day.
